Michael Fedun has practiced law since 1990, and for the past fifteen
years as a partner in Singer & Fedun, L.L.C. He is an “on
his feet attorney,” concentrating his practice in courtroom
litigation, municipal land use before local planning and zoning
boards, and representing condominium and homeowner associations.
Michael’s courtroom practice includes civil and criminal matters
at the trial and appellate levels in both state and federal courts.
He represents a number of small business and individuals in their
day to day legal needs.
Michael’s courtroom practice extends from assisting national brokerage firms in enforcement of restrictive covenant provisions in employment contracts, to handling first time speeding ticket defendants in municipal court. He obtains local land use approvals for professional, business and recreational facilities, and has successfully defended challenges to those approvals at various levels of appeal. his law partner, and involves counseling Boards of Trustees of the Associations, as well as representation of them in courts and before governmental agencies both locally and in Trenton. He has published works in the field. |
His practice is also locally based, as Michael has established ties to the Montgomery Township and Somerset County communities. In 1933 his immigrant paternal grandfather, Peter, opened a general store on Route 206 in the village of Harlingen, in a building still owned by the Fedun family today, just down the road from his law offices. Peter was a founder and charter member of Montgomery Township Fire Company No. 1, the same entity that became Michael’s first (albeit pro bono) client as an attorney. Peter expanded the operation in 1947, adding Harlingen Hardware next door, which Michael’s father, William, converted to Harlingen Garage in 1954. Following Willie’s passing, and to this day, Michael’s brother Matthew has operated the facility.
He and his wife also live in Montgomery, where their three children attend
local schools. Michael works extensively in local civic and sporting interests,
coaching and sponsoring baseball and basketball teams, and participating
in local political activities. He recently ran for a seat in the General
Assembly, to represent the 16th District in Trenton.
Michael received his B.A. degree in Philosophy from St. Bonaventure University. He graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School, where he was a law review editor.
